From early on in his career Matthew has always been interested in pushing the limits of modern technologies. When it comes to producing or engineering, he has been extremely involved in all aspects of his projects. Working with several different artists, in several different genres, all over the entire musical spectrum. From hardcore rock to hip-hop, and everything in between, Matthew has always been very open-minded to all forms of artistic expression.
After High School Matthew went on to study music and learn recording fundamentals and technology at Citrus College in Glendora, California. He graduated in 2002 with a degree in Recording Technology. During this time he worked on many different projects with many extremely talented musicians seeking to better themselves in engineering and their art. Matthew then went on to work for The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
After working a year for NARAS. Matthew was able to bond with many like-minded artists, producers and engineers. During this time he was involved in the first Electronic Artists’ Committee, which included Ken Jordan, Scott Kirkland (Crystal Method), Brian Transeau (BT), Carmen Rizzo, and Jason Bentley (KCRW, KROQ) among many others.
During his span of work with NARAS, Matthew was still feeling very pent up artistically. His continued drive led him to many different studios around southern California ranging from Enterprise Studios in Burbank, to Lovejuice Laboratories in Riverside. Dealing with many different groups and artists from all different areas and genres including Emily Moultrie, Halifax, Amity, A Thorn for Every Heart, Morgan Page, amongst many others.
Matthew currently produces, mixes, and engineers out of his home studio MetafonicSound and also works for Widget Post Production as their IT Engineer and Audio Technician.
Whether it’s being the Musical Director for Harvey’s Industries 2006 Fall Fashion Line, or creating scores for independent films, and producing hit records. Matthew Kallen's career will continue to grow in all aspects of music. He truly shares his love with others and puts his whole heart into everything that he does.
